  • 2 3/4 Cups Flour
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 3/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Butter
  • 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Coffee
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup Half and Half
  • 1/2 Cup Milk for topping
  • 1/2 Cup Sparkling Sugar for topping


  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a large bowl.
  • Using a cheese grater, grate the cold butter into the flour mixture. Toss into the flour mixture until combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips, eggs, coffee and vanilla extract.
  • Mix in half and half. The amount needed will vary, feel free to add more if the dough is too dry.
  • Empty dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead slightly to incorporate and drier bits. Form dough into a circle, then press out until it is about an inch thick.
  • Slice dough into triangles, then move the triangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 
  • Let dough rest in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
  • Brush dough with milk and sparkling sugar right before baking. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden. Enjoy!
