The farmer’s market has been full of plums lately and unfortunately I’ve never really cooked with them before. But their delicious smell and beauty made me buy…well a lot of them. And then I stumbled on this french recipe for stone fruit and the plum clafoutis was created!
I’m not the biggest sweets person (although you wouldn’t know it by looking at my blog) but I LOVED this recipe because of it’s simplicity and how the main ingredient is fruit! And Tai? He has a sweet tooth for sure and also loved this recipe.
And for the first time since starting this blog, Tai has given a recipe his seal of approval 😉
- 8 Tbsp Sugar
- 12 Italian Plums
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup Milk
- 2/3 Cup Flour
- 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp Confectioners Sugar
- Preheat oven to 375. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp of sugar on the bottom of a 10 inch pie dish. Cut and pit plums, and place pit side down onto the pie dish. Sprinkle 2 Tbsp of sugar on top of plums.
- In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, flour, vanilla extract, cinnamon and 5 Tbsp of sugar. Stir until combined and pour on top of plums. Cook for 45 minutes or until cooked through.
- After 45 minutes, remove from oven and let cool. Sprinkle confectioners sugar on top and serve. Enjoy!
