Life has been crazy right now. I’m working 60 hour weeks and by the time I get home, I’m crashing and Tai makes me a pizza bagel and then we both go to bed. This schedule gets old very quickly and after weeks of pizza bagels it needs to come to an end. So this past weekend, since both of us had free time and were able to relax, I decided to make us a fancy, stick to your ribs, full dinner because we hadn’t had one together in so long. For us, that meant getting steak, something we never buy. And because we are in a tiny apartment in Brooklyn, cooking steak is more limited, so I decided to try a Butter Basted Steak using Epicurean Butter‘s Garlic Herb Butter.
This steak was delicious! And it was the perfect meal to have after a long stressful week. The Garlic Herb Butter is so packed full of flavor, I didn’t have to use any other seasoning because it tasted so amazing. After dinner Tai and I were both in a food coma and so happy to have had a great meal together.
Butter Basted Steak
- 2 Steaks
- 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
- 3 Tbsp Roasted Garlic Herb Butter by Epicurean Butter
- Season steak liberally with salt and pepper. Pour oil into a frying pan and heat on high. When oil is hot, place steaks in pan. Flip occasionally and cook until golden brown on edges.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to pan. Tilt pan slightly so that the butter collects near the handle. Spoon butter on top of steak, making sure to spoon over any light spots. Flip steak and repeat until steak is cooked to your liking. After cooking, let steak rest for 5 minutes, then enjoy!
