Lately I’ve been seeing fantastic displays for seasonal beer at the grocery store and I just had to try a recipe that features beer. My Beer Braised Chicken recipe is definitely a new go to for fall and seasonal beer.
I decided to use the Pumpking beer by Southern Tier and it was phenomenal! It gave the chicken a robust and dark flavor that paired well when lightened by the honey and tomato. All together this made for a delicious hearty fall recipe.
So here’s to fall! And all of the pumpkin/octoberfest/candy/delicious food that it brings!
Beer Braised Chicken
- 6 Chicken Thighs
- 1 Bottle Beer
- 1/2 Cup Honey
- 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
- In a large pan heat oil on a medium-high temp and place chicken thighs skin down in the pan. Cook until fat is rendered and skin is golden.
- Transfer chicken to a large sauce pan. Combine beer, honey, tomato paste, and garlic and pour over chicken. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes or until meat is falling off the bone.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!
