Hey all! Recently I took part in a really great twitter chat sponsored by Table8 (if you want to read it, look up the hashtag #table8foodies on Twitter). I’ll be honest, before this chat I had never heard of Table8 but their sponsorship really piqued my interest. Table8 is a restaurant reservation platform (via iphone, Android and Table8.com) where for a small fee you can reserve a table at a high end, popular restaurant during at peak, sold out times.
But wait, it gets better. All other times, reservations are on the house. “These are the managers’ tables once set aside only for last-minute VIP diners that are now being made available to everyone,” says Table8 co-founder Santosh Jayaram.
So in a city like NYC, where most of the time Tai and I don’t know what our dinner plans are, this service is amazing. It takes the guesswork out of finding a place, saves time by avoiding long lines and gets us into restaurants that we’d often have to wait weeks for.
